His professional trajectory spans field engineering, cross-functional leadership, management consulting, and product management, providing an unusually integrated perspective on the operational, commercial, and strategic dimensions of electric utility grid technology. Areas of recognised expertise include distribution automation, real-time grid operations, distributed energy resource integration, ADMS and DERMS platforms, reliability performance, and the translation of utility operational requirements into deployable technology solutions.
John is a registered Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA), holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, and completed an Executive Master of Business Administration concentrated on Innovation Leadership.
